It works with the older gen of Ipods, but the newer ones will play, but it doesn't charge the battery. Stupid but then again i have the older style so i'm not complaining.
The display on the television screen also works just fine. Having to scroll through the entire list of artists to find what you want is just hugely annoying. Brutal. So far, *thumbs up*But, like many have said, the interface is horrible.
I'm sure there are easier to control products out there. Adding the artwork/display features would just be gravy. I typically only use The Bridge to play one particularly playlist on shuffle and rarely attempt to change what is playing - if I want to hear something else, I'll just plug in the laptop and go straight to iTunes.The other thing that bugs me is that the on-screen display doesn't bring across the album artwork, nor does it display all of the information stored on the iPod.If H/K can fix the speed / interface issue, this would be a fantastic device. I bought the H/K AVR 354, which included The Bridge. While the receiver is fantastic, the Bridge promises more than it delivers.Super easy setup, and I don't have the problems others have reported with having to switch b/t devices on the remote to change volume. (for mp3's.). Not only that, but it has to stop and think for a few seconds after it pages through about 1 1/2 screens.
As is, I'm glad to have this, but had I spent extra $$ on it, I'd be pretty annoyed. Seems like everyone else here feels the same as I do. Sound is fantastic. The general speed of accessing the iPod menu is also incredibly slow - even backing out of one playlist to get to another takes much longer than it should.
Not very user frendly with the Harman Kardon Control but it met all my expectations in terms of conecting, charging and playing my ipod with the home theather and using the same control.
What if it succeeds is able to control the music from artists, most recently heard, albums, etc. You may only be useful for earlier versions of the iPod classic. I recommend that you only get if you just have iPod 5.5 or less, since I bought it thinking that all civil servant to my iPod classic and I failed to see the videos. This product can only be used to listen to the music of his Ipod, but does not play video. I bought for my home theater system to view the video on my iPod and take a one-touch all my digital content but do not achieve this with accessories. by remote control receiver harman kardon.
I need to be able to control my IPod with the remote to the receiver from across the room. This could be reason enough to buy a Harman-Kardon amp. This is a very handy item. This is great tool because I can use the television to navigate the IPod controls.
